Program Overview

The integrated science secondary major certifies students to teach general science at the middle school level and biology, chemistry, earth science and physics at the high school level. The major provides a depth of instruction in each science discipline, as well as coursework in science teaching pedagogy.

In order to be certified in this major, students must:

  • Complete the major with a 3.0 GPA
  • Pass the ISCI Secondary subject area Michigan Test for Teacher Certification
  • Complete the College of Education professional program
